Me and more
yes, but CFLs apparently have very high mercury content which is not good for our planet either. LEDs is the way to go i hear!
@Mrinal: You are right that the Mercury content in CFL's may contribute to air and water pollution, but it reduces emissions of greenhouse gases. I have read somewhere that Philps and GE make very low-mercury content CFL's. Didnt know about the LED's being used as homelamps :) .. Anyway, whenever i hear LED, the only thing that comes to my mind is my Digital Electronic lab exams where passing was dependent solely on the correct LED glowing :)
Hello,It was very interesting to see celebrities sealing a bulb but for me, it's not only in changing your bulb you will save the planet, this is a lot of more things you have to follow and everybody needs to do that. Two months back, I saw a very interesting documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth”; it talks about the climate change, the reasons of the planet heating and how to reduce it. This is presented by former United States Vice President Al Gore and it is very well argues. For the trailer, go to: http://www.climatecrisis.net/trailer/I’m not the best person to speak about this subject because the pollution in Europe is quite important. All of our cars are using petrol, it’s not like in India, you have CNG, which is very helpful to protect the planet. There is something in this beautiful country I don’t like at all, this is when I see people throwing there plastic packet in the street, I don’t know if they don’t care or if there are not aware of was is happening to this. It starts to be one, and two and three, and… and nobody is cleaning, and it becomes very dirty. For me, I prefer to use a bin :)Anyway, I advise you to watch this documentary if you have the opportunity, it will change your vision of the planet. It will explains you small things which are logical but you don’t really think about that, like when you are brushing your teeth, stop the water when you don’t need. Or don’t use your AC with a window open, etc…So be aware of what you can do for the planet and you will become a planet safer :)
